CCBlocks began with a family coconut farm in Adonara, Indonesia, and a simple question: how can unused coconut byproducts become something practical, valuable, and sustainable?
A family coconut farm, unused byproducts, and a search for practical local materials shaped the beginning of CCBlocks.

Kresensia Kurniawati grew up near her family-owned coconut farm in Adonara, Indonesia. While her family had practiced traditional farming for generations, she watched valuable coconut byproducts such as husks, shells, and other waste go unused.
After earning a scholarship to study in the USA through the CCI program, she met Alexander Cain, who shared her interest in sustainability, design, and innovation. Together, they began exploring how coconut waste could become viable products.
In Dayton, Ohio, they collaborated with other innovators at the Entrepreneur Center, tested ideas, refined prototypes, and began gathering community feedback. The project developed into Coconut Construction Bricks, a practical material concept shaped by sustainability and local context.
Our mission is to support local communities by transforming coconut waste and other abundant local resources into affordable, sustainable building materials. We aim to work closely with local voices, gather feedback, and adapt solutions to each community, environment, and region.
We value integrity, transparency, and respectful collaboration with partners, communities, and team members.
We listen to local communities as experts of their land, goals, resources, and cultural context.
We blend traditional knowledge with responsible experimentation to turn local waste into useful materials.
